Family Friendly Holidays At Blanco, Eastern Cape

‘The pursuit of truth and beauty is a sphere of activity in which we are permitted to remain children all our lives.’ Albert Einstein
Child family holidays no longer have the same traditional meaning they used to. They now refer to excursions designed to knock the socks off the most street wise kid out there. Blanco offers a family friendly holiday that goes back to basics and allows children and adults to play again. Children can vent pent-up energy from living in big city traffic and small housing estates and enjoy space to run, discover and explore in the vastness of the Eastern Cape.
Always a hit with younger children, the farmyard is a scene of much frenzied social activity. Babies are being born continually and youngsters get to experience the circle of life with friendly farm animals. Blanco’s farmyard is no different and children are encouraged to get involved with the milking and feeding of different animals. Our famous farm fresh cream is made from the milk of our cows, and kids are invited to give a helping hand.
Horse riding is also arranged and is an activity to get the whole family out into the open and have fun. Animals feed children’s sense of wonder and can give them hours of enjoyment and learning.
Kids can have more old fashioned, outdoor fun on the kiddies’ playground where they can meet new friends.
Blanco also provides a range of activities for a family to enjoy together on a family friendly holiday. Sometimes a team effort strengthens bonds between people and we are proud to offer: tennis and squash courts, swimming pool and volleyball court, as well as a golf course. We also have exciting mountain bike and 4 x 4 trails for terrain enthusiasts.
In much the same way as we want you to nurture family relationships while on holiday, we also know that mom and dad need some time on their own. We have a wonderful team of nannies who can help to look after children when mom and dad want to relax.
Food is hearty and homely, the way it should be on a family friendly holiday. It is designed to satisfy the appetites whetted by the fresh air surrounding Blanco. We encourage children to eat in the children’s dining room to allow parents a chance to socialise. It also gives the children a chance to dine with others their age.
South African school holidays book up very early in advance; so make sure you book ahead to avoid disappointment.
